How often do you bash your body or talk negatively to yourself?
Take a second right now and think about the last time you actually told yourself how awesome you are.
We are so quick to beat ourselves up, bash ourselves, judge ourselves… and the truth is – no one else is as hard on us as we are.
This article that I just read from Glamour magazine is genius. It includes a fabulous picture of a REAL woman loving who she is and how she looks… and no – she’s not a size 2 (and neither is MOST of the population).
Check out that article and then take 10 minutes to think of as many awesome things about yourself as you can.
I would love love love it if you would share some of your list here – c’mon – show yourself some public love!!

Ok I’ll start… I love my belly. It’s not a 6-pack, and it may never be – though I admit, I do work toward that. But it’s all good, because when my daughter looks at it, she tells me that’s where she lived before… and I love that.
I also love my biceps. They’re toned and when I look at them, they remind me that I’m a strong woman.
I also really love my legs – they’re really strong and provide me a great foundation :)

Jenn, this IS a great story. To add to your post, here is a link to Lizzie being interviewed on the Today Show. It’s worth the 4 minutes and change to watch it.
Here’s the link:

I’ll also share one of my favorite mantras…
“Don’t COMPARE…CELEBRATE!”
If you continually compare yourself to others, you rob yourself of the joy of finding all the wonderful things to celebrate about yourself and your life.

Brian – Thanks so much for sharing that link. I saw her interview and it was wonderful.
I love what you say about comparing yourself… so true.

Jenn,
My daughter says the same about my belly. She loves it because it is where she came from.
I will add to your celebration–
I love my arms because they are strong and are able to carry things I need.
I love my feet, face and hair because they all remind me of my deceased mother. My brother and sister don’t have her features like I do so I am grateful for that.
Jenn, you know sometimes it is the simplest things that help us reconnect with what we love about ourselves and remind us how beautiful we truly are.
Thank you for this today. I needed it.
Much appreciation and love,
Teresa
