Monday Muse: Spcaiousness

May 18th, 2009  |  Published in Keeping Your Sanity

You know what it feels like to push really hard toward your goals. Your mind chatters away at you constantly – you work really hard to create results, you worry about when it will happen, how it will happen. You second guess yourself, you doubt yourself.

We’ve all been in that place.

When you’re forcing something into creation like that, you’re actually creating a friction. Instead of relaxing into the process, listening to your intuition and trusting yourself, you’re giving energy in the direction of not achieving your goal.

This week, give yourself permission to just stop. Be still. Even if it’s just for 5 minutes. Allow your mind to rest.

When you create spaciousness through stillness, you’re allowing inspriation to flow through you. You’re allowing solutions to come to you. And you’re opening yourself up to possibilities that you can’t see when you’re pushing so hard.

If you have a hard time creating space through stillness, why not try movement, or active meditation, or a new hobby.

Your goal with stillness is not necessarily being still – but it’s bringing your mind into the present moment, and opening up space so that you can receive.
