You get to choose…

July 31st, 2009  |  Published in Miscellanea  |  4 Comments

I choose to make wellness and fitness a priority for a lot of reasons.

Mostly, I choose it because when I don’t, I don’t like the person I become – depressed, easily irritated, stressed, anxious…

Last week, I read a really inspirational post from Heather Frey. I’ll point you to it in just a sec. I want to offer my thoughts on what she had to say…

The gist of her post, and of this one today is – you get to choose… how you feel, what you do, what you focus on…

And, you get to choose to make yourself a priority.

Your wellness is the most important thing in your life. Without it, you can’t do anything else well.

It doesn’t take much to get started. And once you start, I promise, you’ll see results, and you’ll feel amazing.

However, I know it can be tough to even get started. You know you want to exercise. You know you should exercise, but knowing, and shoulding are easier than just doing it. It’s that old Law of Inertia – an object at rest stays at rest…

If you need help getting started, help is here.

If you really want to start, but you just can’t – something else always gets in the way, my Break Your Fitness Hiatus class might be just the thing for you. It’s a 6 week distance learning class where we’re going to talk about fitness, introduce you to all different types of excerise, and help you add movement into your day really easily.

And, we’re going to talk about nutrition – but not in that depriving, diet sort of way. We’re going to talk real nutrition so that you can make conscious choices about what goes in your body, and you can do what’s exactly right for you in any situation. To find out more, click here.

It’s so true, it is a choice. But sometimes it has to get to that point of intolerance or even crisis before you make the choice and stay with it. It’s easy to stop a fitness routine when you start feeling good.. you take a break and before you know it you forget (okay, me) how much better you feel when you’re moving, or that you’re feeling of blah now can be easily solved by exercising.

I wish you much success with your class.. it sounds like it could be just the thing for a lot of people!

I went through a period when I was really resistant to exercise. I think I had some type o f mental block. I got past it, but something like this would have been helpful.
